Letter to Toronto Sun - re Reuters - page 34

Half-truths by Reuters

It pains me to see the Sun repeat the Reuters news clips that are sent from Gaza.
They speak about "a familiar pattern" of violence. That is true, but it hides the whole truth -
that the violence is always begun by Hamas' militants. In this case it hides the truth that over 100 rockets shelled Israeli cities and citizens before Israel responded. The article also omitted to say that the Palestinian rockets usually kill no Israelis because Israel has prepared its citizens with bomb shelters and protective rooms in each apartment or building. Hamas on the other hand has provided no protection for its citizens and allows the militants to fire rockets from near civilian buildings, virtually forcing Israel to inadvertantly kill Palestinian civilians.

Without this background and with the heading reading "Israeli attacks kill boy, militant", it appears that Israel is the aggressor. It is not. At the minimum the Sun heading should read: "Palestinian boy killed in counteract" or "100 Palestinian rockets yield counterattack and death of Palestinian boy".

David Heap and the Flotilla

What is wrong with Israel? Why don't they arrest David Heap of the Flotilla and put him in jail with Barghouti or other Palestinian "moderates" and then put a yamika on him and take him for a walk at a "friendly" Arab village, Bethlehem or Gaza City. That way he will truly know the moral character of the people he is fighting for. Instead they will probably give him pita and hummas to try to prove that Israel has some nice people and food. What a pity and waste of energy.

A Tale of teo Ghettoes - NP Nov 2, A16

Aside from the article being wrong on the facts and conclusions, Kalle Lasn is trying to copy her Palestinian friends' boycott of Israeli products and those that trade with Israel with a Canadian internal boycott. It is Shoppers Drug stores' right to sell whatever they like. It is our right not to buy from them. However by not selling Adbusters, Shoppers is in no way stopping us from choosing. It is Lasn and Klein that are trying to hinder Shoppers' right to choose. We should follow their example and boycott all stores that sell the Adbuster magazine. I hope that CJN or the National Post puts out a list of those stores which do sell Adbusters, so that I, and many, many others, can boycott them.

Letter to National Post -internet edition - UN HRC

Let's see. The UN Human rights Council is made up mostly of human rights abusers. They appoint Judge Gladstone who is known to be anti-Israel to be the chief investigator into the Gaza war. Instead of a fact finding mission, he draws conclusions against Israel and a limited amount against Gaza. His conclusions are based on unverified evidence given by Palestinians who have previously lied in relation to incidents in Jenin and Lebanon, and in the Al Dura case. The UN Human Rights Council ignores the accusations against Gaza and accuses Israel of war crimes. Does this sound fair or am I being paranoid?
