Harper on Israel and anti-semitism

My letter to Prime Minister Harper

Thank you for your speech on Israel.

It made me proud to be a Canadian.

In my opinion it was one of the great speeches, if not the greatest since Churchill

and raises you to the level of one of the world's greatest moral statesmen.

Afghanistan and dress code - re NPost Nov 8th

1. Afghanistan - "winnable"? . No way. We can beat the Taliban and we can educate more Afghanis, but we can't change the male population from being Islamists, who oppress women who want to live by Sharia law, into modern democratic moderate Muslims. That change will take at least a generation. In the meantime, the best we can do is lead by example in Canada and reduce the physical threat to our own country.



2. Faiza Iqbal,in her letter to the editor supports the burka on the grounds that you can't judge a book by its cover. But she is wrong. A book with a naked lady on the cover probably deals with sex and a book with a Star of David or a Cross on the cover probably deals with religion. Similarly with dress. A man wearing a $1000 suit is probably a banker or a businessman, one wearing jeans and a sweatshirt is probably a manual labourer, and one wearing a mailman's uniform is probably a mailman. So someone wearing a burka is probably an Islamist who by definition wants to destroy my society. She may also believe that the big smock also protects her virtue, but her virtue is of little concern to most Canadians. The burka is therefore a political and religious statement which is offensive, not because the wearer is Muslim, but because the wearer is probably an Islamist and is publically announcing her distain for the kaffirs.

Aside from the article being wrong on the facts and conclusions, Kalle Lasn is trying to copy her Palestinian friends' boycott of Israeli products and those that trade with Israel with a Canadian internal boycott. It is Shoppers Drug stores' right to sell whatever they like. It is our right not to buy from them. However by not selling Adbusters, Shoppers is in no way stopping us from choosing. It is Lasn and Klein that are trying to hinder Shoppers' right to choose. We should follow their example and boycott all stores that sell the Adbuster magazine. I hope that CJN or the National Post puts out a list of those stores which do sell Adbusters, so that I, and many, many others, can boycott them.

Big Lie exposure

Congratulations to the National Post for exposing the biggest middle-eastern lies all in one edition.

Tarek Farah exposed that the Koran, but not the Hadith, is not anti-semitic but supports the Jewish state of Israel, Salomon Benzimra has exposed the fact that the illegal occupied Palestinian territories, legally belong to Israel under International Law, and are therefore not Palestinian and therefore are not occupied.

Surely, if this knowledge was integrated into the peace process, a basis for peaceful co-existence could be found.

Science vs. Multiculturalism



The Moral Landscape ( National Post, Oct. 25th, A21) sets out the case that we should use multiculturalism to pick and choose, as scientifically as possible, those moral values that are best for our society. It encourages us to scrap religious and cultural practices of our many local cultures that are not beneficial to our society and to adopt those that are beneficial. Instead of our weak "all cultures are equal" philosophy, we must adopt an attitude that some parts of various cultures are better and adopt those attributes - whether they are originally our own values which we reaffirm, or the values or other cultures or religions. The book therefore is crucial reading for all Canadians.

The Globe and Mail 10/21 A9 - Ortodox Jews and the niqab

It is hard to believe that the Montreal Orthodox Jewish community is objecting to the ban of the niqab, not because they disagree with it, but because they fear that their own discriminatory policies will be next. The community has something to fear if Canadian morality takes precedence over cruel, harmful or discriminatory religious ritual. Freedom of Speech and Individual Rghts and Freedoms should take precedence over religious rules and rituals. For example, it is time we objected to putting women in the back of houses of worship as if they were second class citizens. The least we should do is take away tax benefits for all institutions which don't play by Canadian moral rules.

Governor-General's expenses

Oct 6th National Post on page A5 reported that our new G.G. was no big spender and only spent $3,427 for his wife and himself for one night in Ottawa. - $2500 for the room and $600 for food. I'm livid. I spent $100 for a good room with breakfast with a view, near a beautiful sandy beach on Lake Huron. Now I know that Blind River is not Ottawa, and I am not the G.G. but 30 times the price on my taxpayer's buck seems wildly and grossly excessive. Even when I stay in downtown Montreal, a room only costs me $200. Of course there I will use hotwire or priceline but nothing says that our GG can't do the same. Let's see. My Canada pension for 3 months is the same as our GG spends in one night - and I, as a taxpayer, must pay for that our of my pension. Hardly fair.
